| yes, in fact I didn't even get through the whole thing because I had recently seen What the Bleep do we Know and think it's a much better movie that is along the same vein. However, I do think the Secret is beneficial to watch. Anything to remind us of the truth is good! |

Oh I liked the movie. I really liked how they showed visually your thoughts radiate outwards from you into your daily experience. There were also some really good examples of the power of what your mind can do/undo for you.
It's just that when I have people in my life excitedly asking if I'd seen "The Secret" yet and they wouldn't tell me what it's about, I start thinking "maybe there is some great secret"! Nope.
One thumb up for getting people excited about the power of attraction, the power of your thoughts and how wonderful it is not to live life powerless, frightened and alone. One thumb down for the silly "Da Vinci Code" intro.

hahaha. that's great. i thought the secret was a bit dramatic and sappy in the packaging - but that makes it accessible to mainstream viewers. attractive how they simplified and explained it - although it can be confusing to people. the esther hicks one was a little better in my opinion, because while that lisa chick has a beautiful voice and smile, it felt like she was constantly reading a self help book aloud. _________________ "Darkness is your candle. last week one of my professors was like, "has anyone seen the secret?"
"well, some people say the law of attraction is equivalent to the law of karma." i was like whoa. sometimes things surprise me lol. it makes sense though, in some ways. a classmate made the distinction that it only applies if your motivations are not particularly material. so interesting
to hear opinions and interpretations on it. _________________ "Darkness is your candle. Your boundaries are your quest. I can explain this, but it would break the glass cover on your heart, and there's no fixing that...Listen, and lay your head under the tree of awe." - Rumi |
